High CSR Elite Wheel demand, Clubsport Wheel suffers

According to Thomas' latest blog post demand for CSR Elite Wheels is big enough that they decided to temporarily stop taking pre-orders.

It looks like the number of pre-orders reached the maximum of what Fanatec is able to produce and deliver before Christmas and since pre-Christmas delivery was promised for all pre-orders, the time we all knew would come is finally here. They will start taking more pre-orders as soon as they know that they can deliver.

There is an unfortunate consequence to that, which will affect the most hardcore PC sim racers. Because demand for CSR Elite wheels is so high and metal parts for the CSR Elite Wheel are also needed to build Clubsport Wheels, Fanatec is experiencing shortages. Instead of putting Clubsport Wheels on sale right away and making this supply crisis even worse, they rather decided to increase production first and offer it a bit later.

So it took ten days for the pre-orders to close. How long did you guys think it would last?

csr elite for singapore

Hey Thomas, when this csr elite wheels and pedal is availability for Singapore fans? Also, is the current specification suitable for use in Singapore? 240v power supply voltage?

Time line

To answer the question posed on this ......I thought no more than 24hrs.

CSR ELITE

I'm surprised it took this long to sell out! I'm glad I had my order in on the very hour of release! Clubsport shifter next! Then maybe the Clubsport wheel... At the moment I only have a xbox but will upgrade to PC thru time. I think the price is fair ( my opinion) Big cheer for the big man giving people like us what we want and taking time communicate with u's too. Does other manufacturers do that? Thumbs up Thomas.

you have your order mix

you have your order mix up...the Clubsport Wheel next and then the shifter

Hi, sorry for the confusion.

Hi, sorry for the confusion. I have pre ordered the csr elite and hope to pre order the shifter next when it is available.
Regards
Stu.

Supply shortages = poor planning

Excuses like these will only hurt Fanatec more.

Its a shame.. Most of my mates waiting for a decent F1 2011 wheel for the PS3 have how purchased T500RS + F1 wheel kits from Thrustmaster.. and they don't suffer from any high pitch noises either lol

Cheetah2k = Corporate Troll

Thinly-veiled attempts like these to badmouth competitors products only hurt YOU more.

It's a shame... you're gonna need to create a new account now that you've been exposed.

By the way, I loved your constructive review of the Elite Pedal Inversion Kit:

"You're kidding right... How long does this take to disassemble and reassemble? Its just not practical."

Perhaps, you'd have more time on your hands if you weren't wasting your time bashing other peoples products on this site.

If I've got you wrong, and you ARE just a disgruntled Fanatec owner or a Thrustmaster fanboy, my humblest apologies.

Now go and get a life.

Touched a nerve did I, who's

Touched a nerve did I, who's trolling now??

I'm not bashing Fanatec. I'm also neither a disgrunted Fanatec owner or a Thrustmaster fanboy. I'm extremely disappointed that I had to resort to buying a Thrustmaster product because Fanatec couldn't meet demand. They made promises they couldn't keep simple as that.

I really wanted the Clubsport F1 wheel and peddles for F1 2011, but where are they???????

Cheeta2k, look up at the top

Cheeta2k, look up at the top of the page and see if you can locate the word after 'Fanatec' and 'Wheel'...

Since you are clearly not a 'fan' in any way shape or form and, without exception, spend your entire time on this site delivering one-sided, bitter and antagonistic product assassinations, what exactly are you doing here?

You, my friend, are dictionary definition of the word 'Troll'.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAH

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

How could they possibly

How could they possibly foresee how many preoders there would be?
If you have supply for 5000 and only receive 1000 preoders, how do pay for it? Most large companys today have supply on hand for current demand. It's called "just in time" shipping.

Easier said than done

Bad news for those looking to buy CSWs, but is probably difficult to plan big unless you have unlimited resources. What if the demand turns out to be low? You never know how many people will actually buy 500€ wheels in the end.

CSR Elite wheel

Nothing wrong with it,everybody wants this Hard Core wheel..I was just wondering, how many orders has customers ordered since launch (17 nov)??

CSR Elite Wheel

I'll wait until all the bugs are fixed....so what if your rigs are cooler than mine, I'll rule soon, right Thomas?

Between a rock and a hard place!

With both wheels using similar parts and the obvious demand for quality products (CSR Elite) this was no doubt going to happen. Not to say the CSR is not a quality product, but with the CSR Elite selling with more metal and carbon fibre components plus some better inner workings than the CSR this is the type of wheel (if the price is right for you) that people want.

Add in multi-platform compatibility and the CSR Elite should be a top quality product considering you can purchase a CSR, Clubsport Pedals, Shifter units and delivery for the price of the CSR Elite and the world of sim or normal racing is and obviouselly has went a bit mad for the CSR Elite.

My order for the CSR Elite is in, all i, and those of us that have ordered an Elite will receive the product before the touted pre christmas delivery?
